The Vorontsov Palace is a palace complex that served as the residence of the Governor-General of the Novorossiysk region, M. S. Vorontsov. It was built on the northern edge of a coastal hill, on the site of the former Turkish fortress of Khadjibey. Historian N. A. Murzakovich mentioned in his book "Odessa Antiquity": "At the western end of the current Mykolaiv Boulevard, where a small house of landowner Kulikovsky used to stand, Count Vorontsov built his magnificent house." The building's design, created by architect F. K. Boffo in 1827 in the Empire style, made it one of the most notable structures in Odessa for many decades.
