The journal "Questions of Philosophy and Psychology" was published in Moscow from November 1889 to 1918 under the auspices of the Moscow Psychological Society. Its creation and management were carried out by N. Ya. Grot, who was the first editor-in-chief.

The main content of the journal included articles on ethics, epistemology, and other philosophical topics, as well as materials on psychology, including experimental psychology. Soon after its inception, the journal became a leading philosophical publication in Russia.

Although "Questions of Philosophy and Psychology" was a scientific publication, it aimed to be accessible to a broad educated audience, linking philosophical questions with social phenomena. N. Ya. Grot noted that the journal should be understandable and interesting to all educated people capable of reflecting on eternal questions that provoke debate and discussion in the intellectual community.

The journal was published 4-6 times a year. It was founded by the chairman of the Moscow Psychological Society, N. Ya. Grot, and the publisher was A. A. Abrikosov, a member of the Psychological Society and co-owner of the confectionery firm "A. I. Abrikosov's Sons," who provided the initial capital.

Permission for publication was obtained in June 1889 from the Main Administration for Press Affairs, and the journal was exempted from prior censorship. At the end of 1893, the journal came under the ownership of the Psychological Society. From 1898, it was published with the support of the St. Petersburg Philosophical Society, established in 1897.

In 1917, only three issues were released, and in 1918, publication ceased. A total of 142 issues were published.
