The water tower in Novosibirsk is a local architectural monument located near Marx Square in the Lenin District. It combines elements of constructivism and classicism.

In the 1920s, Novosibirsk was actively developing economically. As a result, settlements on the left bank of the Ob, such as Bugry, Vertkovo, and Perovo, were incorporated into the city, forming an area known as Zaobskaya, and from 1934, the Kirov District. To provide this area with water, a water tower was built in 1939 at one of the highest points on the left bank.

The tower also supplied water to the Sibkombain machine engineering plant, now known as Sibselmash.

With the emergence of residential buildings in the area, the district became known as "Tower." By the mid-20th century, the building lost its functionality due to the development of water supply systems.

By the 1980s, the tower fell into disrepair, and its interior became a dump. In 1985, the authorities decided to transform the building into a youth club. In 1998, the tower was handed over to the independent television company NTN-4, which occupied it until 2005. Since then, the building has been vacant and has been seeking a new owner since 2014.

Various urban legends are associated with the tower. For example, it is said that a girl once drowned in the reservoir, and her ghost still wanders the stairs.

Currently, access to the inside of the tower is closed.
