The Vladimir Church, located in Gordeevka, is part of the Smolensko-Vladimir parish. The church was originally built by monk Porphyrius in the 16th century and was later reconstructed in 1812 and 1907.

According to a preserved inventory of church property from 1804, the Vladimir Church was wooden, with one dome and an iron cross, covered with shingles, and the dome was sheathed in wooden scales. On the right side was a consecrated chapel in honor of the Protection of the Holy Virgin, while the left chapel remained unconsecrated.

In 1812, the church was rebuilt by Nizhny Novgorod merchants Volodgin and Zagibenin, with the support of benefactors. The new church had five domes and a bell tower, and the main altar was consecrated in honor of the Meeting of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God. The iconostasis consisted of six tiers of Greek painting, and next to the royal gates was a rare icon of the "Only Begotten Son."

The walls and dome were decorated with watercolor paintings. The church consisted of summer and winter sections with two chapels: the northern, dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and the southern, dedicated to the Venerable Macarius of Yellow Water and Unzha. In 1878, they were renamed: the northern in honor of the Venerable Macarius, and the southern in honor of Saint Nicholas.

In the northern chapel was the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow," and in the southern chapel, arranged by merchant V. V. Monakhov, was the revered Bogolyubskaya icon of the Holy Virgin.

In 1878, the chapels were aligned with the altar, the white stone floors were replaced with mosaics and cast iron slabs. "Air stoves" were installed under the church, making it warm. The iconostases were carved, the main one made of linden. In 1897, the church was renovated: the iconostases and kiots were gilded, the paintings were renewed, and the vaults and columns were painted.

In the early 20th century, construction was carried out according to the project of architect D. Fyodorov and was completed in 1907. The consecration took place in three stages: in February and May 1908, and in September 1909. Services continued until 1926.

In 1998, the church was transferred to the Nizhny Novgorod diocese, and the restoration of the central dome began. Over the course of a year, more than 500 KAMAZ trucks of construction debris and dirt were removed.

In 2012, Metropolitan Georgy consecrated two crosses for installation on the church domes. The main altar in honor of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God was consecrated in 2019, the northern in honor of the Protection of the Holy Virgin in 2013, and the southern in honor of Saint Nicholas of Myra in 2015.

In 1997, a Sunday school opened, which includes a children's theater "Ark" and a vocal ensemble "Golden Domes." Since 2003, a youth military-patriotic group named after the righteous warrior Theodore Ushakov has been operating under the guidance of priest Sergey Simagin.

Since 2012, the parish has been led by protodeacon Sergey Simagin, under whom large-scale internal work began in the Vladimir Church.
