The district local history museum was founded in May 1990. The building it occupies was constructed in the second half of the 19th century by landowner Strizhevsky in the village of Sukhiye Gai. In 1918, it was dismantled and moved to Upper Khava.
The museum features four halls: a hall dedicated to the plant and animal life of the region, an ethnographic hall, a hall dedicated to the district during the Great Patriotic War, and an exhibition hall.
The museum has 650 exhibits, displays, photographs, and albums. Significant attention is given to the sports achievements of the residents of Upper Khava. The museum is managed by Ivan Alekseyevich Nesterov.
