Vasilievsky Castle, also known as Shcherbatovsky, is located in the Vasilievsky rural settlement, now known as the sanatorium named after Herzen, in the Odintsovo urban district of the Moscow region. The castle got its name due to its location in the Vasilievsky estate, situated on the right bank.

Built in 1881 by architect Pyotr Samoylovich Boytsov on the order of Prince Alexander Shcherbatov, the castle was inspired by the views of English colonies such as India and was executed in the style of Victorian England. The complex included the main building and a side wing, connected by a donjon tower.

A garden was laid out around the castle, where the prince and his wife planted exotic plants brought from their travels. The castle housed a menagerie with rare animals, greenhouses with eastern plants, and a kennel. The park was home to tame roe deer and chamois.
