The Usinsk Museum and Exhibition Center 'Vortas' is an important cultural institution in Usinsk and a popular place for residents and visitors of the city.

In 2003, by the decision of the administration of the municipal formation of the urban district of Usinsk, the museum and exhibition center was established, combining the Usinsk Local History Museum and the Vortas exhibition hall. The center engages in various museum activities: preserving, studying, collecting, and publicly presenting exhibits, as well as cultural and educational work.

As of January 1, 2020, the museum's collections include 41,355 items in the main fund. Of these, 36,952 are archival photo negatives by A.I. Goncharov, a member of the USSR Union of Journalists, who documented the construction of the young city of Usinsk.

Among the most valuable collections of the museum are a collection of paintings by artists from Usinsk and the Komi Republic, a collection of works by the outstanding illustrator and animator V.G. Ignatov, as well as paintings and graphics by Soviet artists donated to the center by N.I. Kornilov, president of the International Association 'Art of the Peoples of the World'.

The museum's permanent exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to learn about paleontological and ethnographic collections, the history of oil production in the Usinsk region, as well as the construction and development of the city.
