Tenishev Estate

Фото 1
The Tenishev Estate consisted of a main wooden house with a mezzanine, outbuildings, and three wings. One of the wings, made of stone, was converted into a cathedral mosque in 1893-1894 based on the design by architect V. P. Semechkin.

After the revolution, the Tenishev Estate became an important center for cultural and educational activities among the Tatar population. A kindergarten and a children's home for Tatar children operated here, and performances in their native language were staged.

Several years ago, the main house of the estate, which has survived to this day and was located at the intersection of Bakunina and Uritskogo streets, was dismantled for relocation to a more suitable site.
