The Tenishev estate consisted of a main wooden house with a mezzanine, outbuildings, and three wings. One of the wings, made of stone, was transformed into a cathedral mosque in 1893-1894 according to the design of architect V. P. Semechkin. After the revolution, the estate played an important role in cultural and educational activities among the Tatar population. It housed a kindergarten and an orphanage for Tatar children, and performances in their native language were held here. A few years ago, the main house of the estate, which has survived to this day and was located at the intersection of Bakunina and Uritskogo streets, was dismantled for relocation to a more suitable place.
