Bolshoy Drovyanoi Lane is located between the Garden Ring, starting from Mokhovaya Street, and Nikoloyamskaya Street. The name of the lane appeared in the 19th century due to the Drovyana Square, which existed here in the 18th century, where firewood was actively traded. This gave the lane its name. On both sides of the street, mansions from the 18th-19th centuries have been preserved, some of which have been restored and are now used as administrative buildings.

On the odd side of the street, in the middle of Drovyanoi Lane, the Tatarnikov estate has been preserved, built in 1894-1895. These buildings are just a few minutes' walk from the "Marksistskaya" and "Taganskaya" metro stations. The architectural ensemble includes several structures: the main house, a stable, and gates. The main house is located along the street. This two-story building is richly decorated with stucco, the facade of the first floor is adorned with volumetric stone masonry, and the arched window above the entrance is framed by pilasters. The tall window openings are crowned with multi-tiered cornices. The windows on the first floor lack frames but have a keystone featuring lion heads.

The estate was built by architect E.S. Yuditsky in 1894 for merchant O. Tatarnikova. Yuditsky was born around 1838 in Glusk to a military officer's family and chose a career as an architect. Several buildings constructed under his guidance have been preserved in Moscow, predominantly in the styles of Art Nouveau and Classicism.

The house for O.P. Tatarnikova (née Nyrkova) was designed in the Art Nouveau style. She was married to merchant of the 1st guild F.V. Tatarnikov, who traded in flax products and had transport offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Volga region. He was a member of the merchant council, the Moscow Stock Exchange Society, the council of the Moscow Old Believer community, and a trustee of the Nyrkov prayer house.

The interiors of the Tatarnikov estate are distinguished by rich decoration. The second-floor gallery with a semicircular arch, adorned with caryatids and stucco, deserves special attention. The ceiling is decorated with cornices featuring stucco and stucco ceiling medallions. Mirrors in the gallery are framed with pilasters and stucco with floral motifs, as are the portals of the entrances, which end with semicircular pediments. Below, they are decorated with sandriks on small consoles. The second-floor portals framing the carved doors also have semicircular pediments. The staircase to the second floor features a cast metal railing. The rooms have preserved stucco and multi-level decor. The shape of the door openings and window frames has remained unchanged. The service staircase has retained its original form. The corner tiled stoves of the main house of the estate have also been preserved.

The estate is a cultural heritage site. In 2017, it was put up for auction, and the leasing rights were acquired by the company LLC "RSM". According to the lease agreement, after restoration, the historic building will be adapted for offices.

In 2019, the restoration of the estate's stable and fence was completed.
