The former country estate of the Vyazemskys-Sheremetevs in the village of Ostafyevo was built in the late 18th century under Prince Andrei Vyazemsky, likely according to the design of architect Ivan Starov. This place served as a literary center of Moscow, where prominent figures of the Golden Age of Russian poetry gathered. Since 1899, the estate housed a Pushkin museum, which was closed in the 1930s. In 1988, the estate was granted the status of a federal museum, and in 1995 it was included in the list of objects of historical and cultural heritage of federal significance.
