Golun is a village in the Novosilsky District of the Oryol Region of Russia, serving as the administrative center of the Golunsky rural settlement.

Since 1776, Golun has been home to the estate of the princes Golitsyn. It included the main house, built in 1810 according to the design of architect A. N. Voronikhin, two wings, a stable in a "fortress style" with towers and walls (in 1785 and 1787), as well as a formal park and garden.

During World War II, the estate suffered greatly. To this day, the stable, wings, ruins of the main house, and remnants of the park have survived. This architectural and natural complex is a cultural heritage site.

Majestic parks, cascades of ponds, gazebos and alleys, houses and wings... They silently preserve the spirit of the time and the secrets of the 18th century. Away from the noisy cities, in the picturesque corners of villages and hamlets, life flows calmly and harmoniously. On the road to the ancient city of Novosil, on the banks of the Zusha River, lies the small village of Golun. In the late 18th century, it was acquired by Prince Golitsyn, and it included the villages of Rakovka, Rzhavka, and Rotanovka, forming the estate of the Golitsyn princes.

From the once luxurious estate, only a brick skeleton remains: collapsed walls, peeling plaster, and instead of a roof, the blue sky. Despite this, the house retains its grandeur. Spacious rooms, minimalist decor, a semicircular hall... The age of the trees growing here brings one back to reality. This house, a witness of the era, risks disappearing in the flow of time. On both sides of the house are the wings.

The young count proved to be a skilled master. He had more than two thousand serfs at his disposal. The village had a cattle yard, a horse breeding farm, and a cloth factory, which brought significant income. The count loved his estate and attracted professional architects for construction, while the finishing and decoration of the buildings were carried out according to his personal instructions.

The luxurious house and wings were damaged during the war, and today only ruins remain, but the stable has survived quite well. Besides the remnants of buildings and their former grandeur, the old park has partially survived. In the prince's park, there were three alleys converging at the parterre in front of the house. Some trees, such as linden, pines, and oaks, have survived, remaining a living reminder of a distant past and its grandeur.
