The places near the Nevsky Forest Park in historic Bogoslovka amaze with their beauty. Here, slender trees, alleys, and wooden houses create the atmosphere of an ancient Russian village. These lands began to be developed in the early 18th century.

The main architectural adornment of this area is the multi-domed Pokrovskaya Church, although it is a modern construction. The ancient temple looked different and stood out with its snow-white glow against the backdrop of the forest. It is believed that the church was built by Peter I, but it is known that its construction was supported by a wealthy peasant, Plotnikov, who added elements of ancient Russian architecture. Every element of the building, whether it be the octagon, barrel, carved column, or other details, is characteristic of Russian folk architecture. When the photographer Prokudin-Gorsky created his famous color photographs of the Russian Empire, he visited this place and took several pictures, thanks to which we can see what the Pokrov looked like almost a hundred years ago.

However, it was not only the church that adorned Bogoslovka. The manor house, also built in the folk style, was impressive. The estate was surrounded by greenhouses, parks, ponds with bridges, and pavilions, creating the atmosphere of a noble sanatorium. The estate belonged to Nikolai Zinoviev, the director of the Page Corps, who raised the grandsons of Nicholas I. Nikolai Wrangel, an art historian from the Wrangel family, who visited this place in 1910, described it as follows: "Amidst the greenery of the trees, the roofs of the yellow and white wooden house peek out invitingly on a hot summer day. The terrace, descending to the water, is beautiful, with marble busts on either side of the stairs. The house inside is simple, spacious, welcoming, and cozy." During the Soviet era, Bogoslovka was neglected, and the church and estate fell into disrepair. Later, all this splendor was dismantled.
