In March 1920, the port area and numerous docks of Novorossiysk became the site of tragic events now referred to as the "Russian Exodus" or the "Novorossiysk Tragedy." The evacuation process was led by A.I. Denikin. The photograph was taken near a building belonging to the Vladikavkaz Railway agency.
