A record in the notebook of the priest of the Sakma parish, A.V. Voznesensky, passed to the employee of the "Nizhny Novgorod Provincial Gazette" Anatoly Korobkin, reports that Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich the Terrible, on his way to Kazan, stopped to rest near the Mordovian village of Mushek. At that time, messengers from Kazan arrived with news from the voivode Prince Kurbskiy that the royal army had been defeated by the Tatars, and many Russians had been captured. The tsar, deep in thought, decided to return to Moscow, prayed, and fell asleep. In his dream, the Mother of God appeared to him in the form of the Tikhvin icon and promised her help. Upon waking, the tsar saw an icon being carried by angels and, falling to his knees, ordered a moleben to be served. He and his army prayed with fervent faith. Ivan commanded that a monastery be founded at this place in the name of the Holy Trinity and continued his campaign.

The appearance of the Mother of God occurred on the feast of the Holy Trinity, so a church dedicated to the Trinity was built at this site, and the mountain was named Trinity Mountain. The fourth campaign of Ivan the Terrible ended with victory over Kazan and the annexation of the Kazan Khanate to Russia. In gratitude for the victory, the tsar granted the monastery lands, meadows, and forests by the P'yana River, as well as fishing grounds, and promised to send an icon and monks from Tikhvin. A copy of the miraculous Tikhvin icon of the Mother of God, painted at the behest of the Terrible, was delivered from Tikhvin by Hieromonk Iov, Deacon Serafim, and ten members of the clergy of the Tikhvin Monastery. The icon arrived at Trinity Mountain on June 26, 1576, which is considered the date of the founding of the P'yano-Grozny Monastery. Subsequently, a decree was issued for an annual fair at the monastery on June 26. The church built by the Terrible burned down in 1610 from lightning, but the icon remained unharmed. Boyar Y.U. Bakhmetev then built a wooden church of the Assumption of the Mother of God, where he was buried. In 1645, his son Ivan erected a stone church in honor of the Holy Trinity.

The first abbot of the monastery, Hieromonk Iov, became famous for his prayerful feats, for which he was granted miraculous visions and the gift of foresight. In 1605, Tsar Boris Godunov, learning of Iov's good deeds during a famine, gifted the monastery with church utensils and vestments. On May 20, 1637, the Mother of God appeared to Iov in a dream with Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, commanding him to build a chapel on the spring mountain at Studenets in honor of the Great Martyr Paraskeva Friday.

Today, only a stone from the grave of Elder Iov reminds of the former monastery. In 2008, a small wooden chapel was erected on Trinity Mountain, its shining dome visible from afar. From the site of the former monastery, there is a breathtaking view of the endless fields and the hilly right bank of the P'yana. The dense oak and linden forests through which Ivan the Terrible's army passed have almost disappeared due to potash production and land cultivation. Only on the heights have patches of oak groves, mixed with aspen, survived. The villages of Vetoshkino with the Pashkov estate, Yuryevo, and in the distance, Vypolzovo and Sharapovo, already in the Shatkovsky district, are visible.

In 2005, a Orthodox festival "Pure, Bright Russia" took place in Yuryevo, after which memorial crosses were installed on Trinity Mountain, at the spring of Paraskeva Friday, and in Sakma. In 2008, on the feast day of the village of Voskresenie Slovushche, on September 26, the chapel on Trinity Mountain was consecrated.
