The women's community in Laishево began its existence in the mid-1880s. It was officially established on November 7, 1888, on land provided by the city and donated by college adviser Tatiana Mikhailovna Mentova. On August 5, 1895, by imperial decree, the community was transformed into the Trinity non-staff communal monastery. The monastery developed and was built exclusively through the labor of the nuns and donations. Some buildings of the monastery have been preserved, including the Trinity Church, erected between 1901 and 1912 according to the project of architect F.M. Malinovsky, which was drafted back in 1888. The contractor for the construction was master Zakharov, and the bricks were provided free of charge by Laishев merchant K.A. Makashin. In 1904, a tragic accident occurred at the construction site: scaffolding collapsed while 49 nuns were carrying bricks, resulting in the deaths of 17 of them.

The two-story abbot's building was constructed between 1889 and 1891, housing cells, a refectory, and the home church of Sergei Radonezhsky. A three-story residential building was also erected at the end of the 19th century, and a two-story cell building was completed in 1912.

Unfortunately, the monumental six-tier bell tower with a passage on the lower level, which was the architectural dominant of Laishево, was lost. It housed a school, prosphora, cells, and the Church of Alexander Nevsky. The monastery was quite large, with the total number of nuns and novices usually exceeding two hundred. The abbesses of the monastery included nun Anfiya from the Chistopol Assumption Monastery, abbess Varvara, Afanasiya Syrchina, nun Maria, Lyudmila Bogoyavlenskaya, and nun Innokentia from the Kazan Mother of God Monastery. The monastery was closed in 1929, and the Trinity Church in 1930. In 1993, the church was returned to the believers.
