Tretyakovsky Passage is a small picturesque street in Moscow, located in the Kitai-Gorod area, between Nikolskaya Street and Teatralny Passage. It was designed by architect A.S. Kaminsky in the 1870s on the site of an old passage that was built up in the 18th century. The initiators of the passage's creation were brothers Pavel and Sergey Mikhailovich Tretyakov, renowned merchants and patrons. The Tretyakov Gates, styled in the manner of Russian antiquity, were cut through the Kitai-Gorod wall near the Bird Tower.

Today, Tretyakovsky Passage is occupied by trendy boutiques and is the only shopping street in Moscow built with private funds.
