Trading House of the Zlokazov Brothers

Фото 1
The house was built in 1889-1890. The ancestors of the Zlokazov brothers were serfs at the Demidov factories in the Urals. Pre-revolutionary literature mentions that the brothers may have worked as laborers at the Kasli factory. However, it is known for certain that before moving to Yekaterinburg, they lived in the Kasli settlement, where their father, Alexey Zlokazov, started his business.

The brothers founded a large industrial company that owned distilleries and mills in the Urals and Siberia. They also tried their hand at coal mining and glass production, but the trading house gained the most fame for its wool production. According to the Vesnovsky directory, wine trade was conducted at the corner of Ufimskaya and Mikhailovskaya streets (now Kirova and Karl Marx).

In 1917-1918, the chairman of the Chelyabinsk Revolutionary Committee was V. Blyukher.
