The Ternovsky People's Historical and Local Lore Museum named after V. V. Mayakovsky is part of the Ternovsky Rural House of Culture. Its fame extends far beyond the borders of Kuban.

At the entrance to the museum, there is a map marked with red circles indicating the cities and countries whose representatives have visited here.

The main themes of the museum include local lore and historical-patriotic focus. They cover the history of the Ternovskaya stanitsa and the Tikhoretsk district, Cossacks, their culture, traditions, and way of life, as well as events from the revolution, the Civil War, and the Great Patriotic War. Among the notable Ternovians featured in the museum are Alexandra Pavlenko, the mother of poet Vladimir Mayakovsky, and Lyubov Afanasyeva, the mother of writer Arkady Perventsev.

The museum has an extensive collection of materials, including original documents, books, and rare exhibits. Its exhibition consists of 28 sections and 5,215 exhibits.

A particular pride of the museum is the named banners of the Ternov Cossacks, dating back to 1842, 1888, 1846, 1847, and 1900. These unique exhibits have no analogs in the museums of Krasnodar Krai.

The museum hosts lessons of courage, excursions, meetings, and historical excursions.
