In 1863, the manufacturer and hereditary citizen S.V. Alekseev acquired the estate at Sadovaya-Chernogryazskaya Street, house No. 8. It was here that his son Konstantin Sergeevich Alekseev was born, known to the world as Stanislavsky. Konstantin Sergeevich lived in this house for 40 years, from 1863 to 1903. Today, a modern building stands in place of the main house, but the wing built in 1880 by architect A.A. Nikiforov has been preserved.

This wing was named "theatrical" as it was equipped for a home amateur theater with a hall and stage. From 1883 to 1888, performances of the famous "Alekseev Dramatic Circle" took place here, which ultimately led to the creation of the Moscow Art Theatre.

In 1908, the wing was acquired by manufacturing advisor N.I. Prokhorov. During the Soviet era, the building was used for various purposes: it housed the "Riviera" cinema, a cafeteria, and a restaurant. In recent years, the wing hosted the music club "Music Town," and then a restaurant reopened.
