On May 12, 2002, the administration of the Tashlinsky district issued an order to create a local history museum. Vera Vasilyevna Ganshina was appointed as the director, a veteran educator with 44 years of experience. For two years, with the support of local residents, she collected exhibits and historical materials for the museum.

The head of the district, V.I. Suslikov, actively supported the establishment of the museum. By his order, a good building in the center of Tashla on Novaya Street was allocated for the museum, which was quickly renovated and equipped. The official opening of the museum took place on July 17, 2004, on the 230th anniversary of the village of Tashla.

Vera Vasilyevna Ganshina made a significant contribution to the design of the museum halls and established its operation as a cultural, historical, and educational center. Together with school leaders, she developed a concept for the patriotic education of youth and organized numerous outreach events. In 2007, for significant work in perpetuating the history of the district, the museum was awarded the title of 'People's'.

Since October 2007, after Vera Vasilyevna retired, the director of the museum has been Svetlana Sergeevna Polyanskaya. During the museum's operation, 492 excursions, 104 socially significant events, 101 exhibitions, and 3932 individual visits were conducted. As of January 1, 2012, the museum's collections numbered 6098 exhibits.
