On September 27, 1935, the land was consecrated, and on July 28, 1937, work began on preparing the site. Architect I.M. Palmov, who designed the St. Spiridon Cathedral, donated half of his fee to the parish. Together with engineer S.I. Sergeyev, he completed all engineering calculations for free. The cathedral, designed for 300 people and adorned with nine domes, was built in the Moscow style. Its construction, costing about 20 thousand dollars, was completed in 14 months.

During World War II, the parishioners of St. Spiridon Church actively supported Russia. The rector, through the magazine "Russian Fields," urged the Russian community to put aside differences and help their compatriots in difficult times.

The parish was also renowned for its magnificent choir. Members of the Russian community enjoyed listening to spiritual music. Choir directors K.N. Andreev from St. Nicholas Cathedral and A.A. Zhuskayev from St. Spiridon Cathedral in Seattle often held joint concerts.
