Old Mill (Village of Pervokrasnoye)

Фото 1
On the outskirts of the village of Pervokrasnoye in the Sorochinsky district of the Orenburg region stands an old abandoned building that once was a mill. Although it looks long deserted from the outside, the mechanisms for flour production are still preserved inside. The equipment likely dates back to the 1950s, and the building itself was presumably constructed in the early part of the same century. This five-story structure has the first two floors made of brick, while the upper ones are wooden. The first floor housed weighing equipment, the second floor was occupied by various machines and grain pits. The third floor contained movable mechanisms and drives. The fourth floor was designated for sifting, where flour and bran were sorted. The mill was built by local craftsmen without using a single nail. The brick foundation was reinforced with egg yolk, giving it special strength. Adjacent to the building is a small room, likely serving as a machine hall with a steam boiler.
