On Sovetskaya Street, formerly known as Pavlovskaya, next to Red Square, there is an ambulance station in a two-story building at number 6.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the second floor of this building housed the City Duma, while the fire department was located on the first floor. Old photographs show that the building was topped with a fire watchtower, where a firefighter was on duty around the clock. He monitored for signs of fire and would ring the bell in case of danger. At that time, most city buildings were wooden, so fire safety measures were extremely important.

According to data from that time, the Pereslavl fire department had at its disposal 6 horses, 4 hand pumps, 4 barrels, ladders, and other equipment. The staff consisted of only six people, but there were about three hundred volunteer firefighters in the city.

In the early 1970s, the building was extensively renovated for the needs of the ambulance station: some walls were rebuilt with silicate bricks, the ceilings were made of reinforced concrete, and the decor lost during the renovation was roughly imitated.
