The Panorama Museum "Battle of Stalingrad" is a world-renowned museum dedicated to one of the most brutal battles of World War II between the USSR and Nazi Germany. The museum features eight halls with unique exhibits, including the magnificent Triumph Hall, four dioramas, a library, panoramic and pre-panorama halls, a cinema, a storage facility, the ruins of a mill, and samples of military equipment.

At the base of the building are administrative offices and halls with exhibits dedicated to the battle, while the upper level houses a large circular panorama in the shape of a rotunda. Next to the museum stands a partially destroyed mill with its own history, and in the square in front of the museum, there is an exhibition of combat vehicles.

Even before the battle in Stalingrad was over, the participants recognized the importance of preserving all evidence of this historical moment. In November 1942, the city authorities decided to collect and preserve all evidence of the battle.

After the war, on June 6, 1948, the restored museum of the defense of Tsaritsyn named after Stalin opened in Stalingrad, where the collected materials were housed. Over the years, the museum changed its name several times. In 1962, it became the Volgograd State Museum of Defense and moved to a new building constructed on the site of the landing of the 13th Guards Rifle Division of Major General A. I. Rodimtsev. On May 31, 1982, it was named the Volgograd State Panorama Museum "Battle of Stalingrad" when the panorama that gave the museum its name was opened.

In 2008, the panorama museum became part of the Historical and Memorial Museum-Preserve "Battle of Stalingrad," which includes other museum complexes dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, the memorial complex "To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad," Mamaev Kurgan, the memorial-historical museum, the museum "Memory," and others.
