The main church of Uglich, consecrated in 1706, is built in the style of "Naryshkin Baroque," popular at the time. The church part has a traditional three-part division and kokoshniks, but is complemented by columns, a cornice reminiscent of an entablature, and elegant frames with broken pediments. Above the roof rises a picturesque five-domed structure. To the east, the church is adjoined by a three-apsidal altar part. On the other sides, the cathedral is supplemented by extensions: to the north is the Pokhvalsky chapel, and to the west, a later added porch. The southern facade, facing the city, became the main one, so the main entrance with a carved white stone portal is located here. The interior of the church is unique due to its vast column-free hall, covered by a vaulted ceiling.
