The Solikamsk Local History Museum, founded in 1929, is considered one of the largest in the Perm region. In the 1930s, there were plans to create a complex of museums based on it, including a museum of the potash industry, an anti-religious museum, and a historical-revolutionary museum.

Today, the museum occupies six buildings, five of which are architectural monuments of the 17th and 19th centuries of federal and regional significance: these are the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Resurrection Church, the Cathedral Bell Tower, the Voivode's House, and the Epiphany Church. The museum's collections hold over 88,000 items. The collections are dedicated to local history and cover the main themes of the historical and cultural heritage of the city and region.

In the museum halls, one can learn about the history of Solikamsk and the Solikamsk voivodeship, the natural world of the Perm region, as well as see ancient Russian art in the collection of icons from the 17th and 18th centuries. Visitors can also explore the Gallery of House Painting of the Kama Region and ascend to the observation deck of the Cathedral Bell Tower to enjoy a view of the city from above.
