Cathedral Square in Belgorod

Фото 1
The main square of the city is a venue for festivals, celebrations, parades, and various events. Since the 18th century, it was known as the Big Square, and from the 1930s until 2004, it was called Revolution Square.

A picturesque Holy Trinity Boulevard leads to the square, which is filled with greenery and benches for relaxation.

At the entrance to the square, there is a monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, next to which the eternal flame burns. In the center of the square, there is a large copper circle surrounded by red tiles with metal coats of arms of the districts of Belgorod region. Tourists follow a tradition: standing in the center of the circle and clapping their hands, one can hear a metallic ringing.

The square is paved with comfortable granite tiles, attracting rollerblading, skateboarding, and scootering enthusiasts. Museums and summer cafes with terraces are located in close proximity to the square.
