The Assumption Cathedral is a majestic structure built in the Russian-Byzantine style. Its brick walls are covered with cement plaster, and the steps and platforms of the porch are made of white carpet stone. The basement originally housed a system of heater heating. The cathedral belongs to the four-pillar five-domed cross-domed churches with a zakomar roof and three large altar apses. The drums of the domes, including the central light dome, are set on octagonal bases and are decorated with arcature-columned belts, console arches, and small kokoshniks under the bulbous domes. The facades are divided by powerful pilasters into spans, ending with deep semicircles of zakomars. A wide frieze with an arcature-columned belt and a ribbon of small niches separates the two tiers of light with high arched windows. The wider central spans are highlighted by massive narthexes with three-lobed pediments, above which are three high arched windows of the second light. The walls are decorated with flat plaster rustication, imitating white stone masonry. The framing of the lower windows is made in the form of wide profiled ribbons with small niches, encompassing the upper part of the openings and continuing at the level of the imposts. The upper windows are decorated with columns and strict archivolts. A cornice of console arches and tongues completes the facades of the narthexes. The interior space of the temple is high and bright, covered with a system of cross vaults with a central light dome, resting on supporting arches and powerful cross-shaped columns. The altar apses, covered with conchs, are completely open to the temple. In the western part, there are preserved choirs with a cast-iron spiral staircase and a forged railing in the Art Nouveau style. The floor is laid with Mettlach tiles, and the undercroft is covered with brick vaults on steel beams. The walls of the interior are painted blue with small ornamental compositions. In the dome of the central head, the Holy Spirit is depicted as a dove; in the conch of the central apse, the composition 'New Testament Trinity'; in the right conch, 'The Word became flesh'; in the left, 'The All-Seeing Eye'.

The abbot's building is a small one-story structure executed in an eclectic style. It is hewn with remnants and clad with planking, which is typical for residential architecture of that time. The rectangular building is topped with a hipped roof. In the early 20th century, an extension of spacious halls with original windows and a high gable finish was added to one of the ends. Probably, at that time, an external attic window and a ceremonial entrance under a rounded awning were arranged, emphasizing the center of the facade. The other facades of the building have rectangular windows with lintels decorated with carved ornamentation. Carved undercuts also adorn the wide crowning cornice, while the protruding logs at the corners and in the places of intersections are covered with panelled blades.
