The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in the Georgievsky Meschovsky Monastery is a two-light four-pillar structure with five decorative domes.

When the monastery's brotherhood was small, the modest Georgievsky church was sufficient. However, in the 19th century, the number of residents in the Meschovsky monastery steadily increased (under the leadership of Father Nikodim (Demutye), it grew from 17 to 30 people), as did the number of pilgrims. As a result, the need for a larger church arose, which was built in 1889.

The church was consecrated in the name of the holy apostles Peter and Paul, which is not coincidental, considering the significance of the Petropavlovsk fair that took place annually near the monastery walls. The brick church features two lights and five decorative domes, adhering to the canons of the popular Russian-Byzantine style of the late 19th century.

After the monastery was closed no later than 1932, the church's domes were destroyed, and the building was used for economic purposes. In the second half of the 2000s, the church was restored, and now services are held there.
