In Montenegro, large-scale events are taking place in honor of the Royal Martyrs. "Days of the Romanov Family" will start on July 15, 2022, in Nikšić. The program includes reports, concerts, and presentations.

Nicholas II was one of the patrons of the Cathedral of St. Basil of Ostrog in Nikšić, where on July 17, the archbishop will conduct the Divine Liturgy.

The church project was developed in 1892 by Russian architect Mikhail Timofeevich Preobrazhensky. The cornerstone was laid on July 4 (17), 1895. Major construction was completed in 1899, after which the decoration of the temple began. The marble iconostasis was donated by benefactor Andreas Singros, and the icons were provided by the Holy Synod. The solemn consecration of the church took place on August 15 (28), 1900, in the presence of Prince Nikola and other guests.

The temple was built in memory of Montenegrin and Herzegovinian soldiers who died in wars against the Turks in 1875 and 1800. On the southern and northern walls of the church, there are 35 copper plates with the names of 3075 fallen soldiers.

This is a three-nave church with an attached bell tower, on top of which there is a clock with a diameter of 2.36 meters.
