The George Cathedral, reconstructed in the early 19th century, is a two-light three-apsidal structure on a basement. It is topped with a dome and a cupola, surrounded by galleries and complemented by a three-tiered bell tower in the classical style, built in 1820. The lower part houses the warm George church with side chapels dedicated to the Exaltation of the Cross and St. Demetrius of Rostov, dated 1760, while the upper part contains the summer church of the Nativity of the Virgin.

During the Soviet era, the Church of St. George the Victorious suffered more than others. The bell with the cross was completely destroyed, and trees grew on the roof. Currently, its restoration is nearing completion. For the George church of this monastery, monks on the holy mountain Athos created an icon of St. George the Great Martyr, which is an exact life-size replica.
