The Nicholas Church of the Georgievsk Fortress is an ancient temple in the city, built in the early 18th century. It is a monument of wooden architecture and is located in the historical center, on the site of the former Nicholas Square. The church is a one-story cross-domed building with a bell tower on top. The walls of the temple are made of wood, while the foundation is made of stone.
Above the central entrance to the church is a small canopy, accessed by several steps. The area of the building is 344 square meters. Today, the temple is known as the Holy Nicholas Cathedral. During Orthodox holidays, services are held here, attended by both locals and visitors to the city. There is a church shop on the premises where ritual items can be purchased.
