On September 25, 2012, Bishop Alexander of Bryansk and Sevsk conducted the ceremony of consecrating the cornerstone for the church in honor of Saint Nicholas at the women's Nikolo-Odrin Monastery in Karachev.

Two ancient buildings have been preserved on the monastery grounds: the abbot's and the brethren's corps. The brethren's corps houses an active church in honor of the Three Hierarchs, Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom, as well as a sacristy, refectory, and cells.

The Nikolo-Odrin Monastery holds the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Intercessor of Sinners." In 2004, a new church was consecrated, built in honor of this holy image.
