The Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ, located in the city of Vyksa in the Nizhny Novgorod region, is the main church of the Vyksa Diocese.

The church was built in 1773 with funds from the factory owners Ivan and Andrei Batyshev and was consecrated in a minor rite. It is situated in the cathedral square next to the Novovyksha pond, surrounded by the houses of the former settlement of the Upper Blast Furnace Plant.

In the 1930s, the church was repeatedly closed, and its rector, Peter Smolyaninov, was subjected to arrests. In 1937, services ceased, the church was closed, and the priest was repressed. During the Great Patriotic War, the church building housed a canteen for military personnel, and later it served as a stable, a gas station, and a fire station.

In the early 1990s, restoration of the church began, and it has been fully renovated to date. Since 2004, wall paintings have been carried out in the church.

The rector of the church is Bishop Varvara Baranov. The patronal feasts are Christmas and the day of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The church is housed in a two-story brick building with columns and a portico, painted yellow with white architectural elements. The second floor is adorned with semicircular windows, a tented dome with dormer windows, and a gilded cupola with a cross. The building features a cornice above the second floor, a four-tiered bell tower with crosses and a clock on the third tier, as well as three altars.

In 1990, the right chapel was consecrated in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and in 1991, the main altar was consecrated in honor of the Nativity of Christ.

In the summer part of the church, two spiral cast-iron staircases lead to the balcony of the second floor. Decorative angel figures are placed along the cornice. The floors in the winter part are wooden, while in the summer part, they are marble.

A Sunday school operates at the church. In 1993, a three-story building of the Spiritual Center with a refectory and church museum was built next to the church.

In 1999, a baptistery was built and consecrated near the church in honor of the Venerable Varvara of Gethsemane. The territory of the church and the baptistery is enclosed by an ornate cast-iron fence crafted by the masters of the Vyksa Metallurgical Plant.
