The cold cathedral was built in 1798 in honor of the Epiphany of the Lord, and the chapel dedicated to the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God was created in 1818 by merchant K.S. Storozheva from Lyubim. The warm Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross houses three altars: in honor of the Exaltation of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and John Chrysostom. The cathedral had two chapels, one stone and one wooden, located in Trinity Trade Square.
The main element of the external decor of the refectory is the window frames, made in the form of a simple frame with panels above and below the window openings. In front of the western facade of the refectory stands a separate 35-meter bell tower, which is an octagonal pillar on a massive cubic base, topped with a tent. From its belfry, there is a view of the valleys of the Obnora and Ucha rivers, as well as a chain of churches in the city of Lyubim, which are architectural monuments of the 18th and 19th centuries.
The cathedral was finally closed, presumably in 1930. Its buildings housed a bread factory, a boiler house, and a workshop. In 1992, the cold cathedral was returned to the church, and restoration work began. In 2016, its revival started.
