The photographs, dated 1899, were taken at the Wolfsgarten Castle near Darmstadt. They depict the last Russian emperor Nicholas II, his wife Alexandra Feodorovna, as well as their friends: Danish Princess Ingeborg, Duchess of Darmstadt, Greek Prince Nicholas, and other close associates.
