In the village of Turinskaya Sloboda, a district historical and local history museum has been operating for 30 years, founded by local historian, World War II veteran, and history teacher M. D. Eliseev. The museum is located in an old mansion from the mid-19th century, where merchant E. G. Rudnev lived.

During its operation, the museum's collection has grown to over 12,000 items that preserve the history of the Sloboda-Turinsk land and tell about significant and interesting events.

The museum's exhibition includes four sections: nature, archaeology, ethnography, and history. In addition, new exhibitions are opened annually, which may be dedicated to Russian and local historical dates, include private collections, or feature traveling exhibits.

The main audience of the museum is children. A cultural and educational program "Museum and Children" has been developed for them, covering a wide time period and various topics. The program introduces children to the amazing world of the museum, immersing them in the life of Russian peasants and folk culture, using authentic museum exhibits.
