The sculptural composition 'Crayfish' is one of six sculptures installed on the embankment of Rostov-on-Don in the summer of 2013. These sculptures serve as an original decoration for a popular leisure spot for both locals and visitors to the city. As noted on a small commemorative plaque, this composition is a gift to Rostov-on-Don from LLC 'Rostov Port'.

The choice of crayfish for immortalization in bronze is not accidental, as these aquatic inhabitants have become a symbol of the city. Boiled crayfish are considered a local 'national' dish, and they are served to all visiting stars, politicians, writers, and other guests of the city.
