Sculpture 'Owl' in Khanty-Mansiysk

Фото 1
The sculpture 'Owl' in Khanty-Mansiysk is located at the entrance to the State Library of Yugra. It was installed on September 3, 2007, in honor of the City Day celebration.

The owl, companion of the goddess Athena, has long symbolized wisdom and the pursuit of knowledge. This is why Moscow sculptor Andrey Kovalchuk chose this image for his work, which now decorates the area in front of the library's main facade.

The bronze owl sits on a stack of three thick books. Under her right wing, three owlets are hiding, still young and inexperienced, but over time they will become as wise as their mother. Thus, the author successfully conveyed the idea of the continuous transfer of knowledge from one generation to another.
