In the village of Otradnoye, Novousmansky District, Voronezh Region, a statue of the Virgin Mary has appeared in the park opposite the Church of the Protection of the Virgin Mary. The idea for creating and installing this sculpture belongs to the rector of the church, Archpriest Gennady Zaridze.

More than a year ago, he proposed this idea to the Otradnoye administration. The head of the rural settlement, Anatoly Kokin, supported the initiative. Father Gennady found a sculptor from Lipetsk who works in the workshop at the church. Together, they chose a sketch for the future sculpture.

The creation of the marble sculpture took over a year, and funding was provided by sponsors and the rural administration.

On the eve of Christmas, the image of the Virgin Mary was installed in the park in front of the church. At night, the sculpture is illuminated by installed lighting.
