The sculptural composition is based on the painting 'The Unknown' by Russian artist Ivan Kramskoy, created in 1883. This work is considered not only the most famous in Kramskoy's oeuvre but also the most mysterious. The title of the painting, 'The Unknown,' adds to its enigma.

The sculpture titled 'The Girl in the Carriage' or 'The Stranger' was installed in 2006 and quickly gained popularity among locals and tourists of all ages. Many strive to take a photo with this sculpture.

The monument has become a popular spot for romantic meetings. Lovers often arrange dates at the sculpture 'The Girl in the Carriage.' It has been nicknamed the Beautiful Stranger, which is linked to Kramskoy's famous painting. The bronze-cast sculpture indeed resembles the heroine of the canvas.

The Stranger and her carriage are life-sized and located on the central Park Alley of the city. The absence of a coachman does not bother anyone; on the contrary, many wish to take his place, lining up for their turn.

Additionally, the sculptor provided a spot for the lady's companion. She always has many suitors: men not only take photos with her but also simply sit in the carriage to enjoy the atmosphere. The Stranger in the Carriage has become a symbol of the city's cultural center.
