One of the attractions of Rostov-on-Don is the bronze monument called "Native Rostov Resident." It depicts a middle-aged man in classic attire, wearing a bowler hat and holding a cane. The prototype for this artistic image was Ivan Suprunov, a first-guild merchant from Rostov. His house at number 35, located near the monument, is also an architectural landmark. The sculpture was created by the sculptor Bukke.

The monument is dedicated to the second half of the 19th century and the pre-revolutionary period of the 20th century, when Rostov-on-Don was actively developing and became one of the key cities in Southern Russia. From a provincial town, it transformed into a place where ladies and gentlemen dressed tastefully, rivaling the fashion of the capital's trendsetters.
