The cliffs "Three Brothers" have been known since the 18th century and were marked on maps of Avachinskaya Bay in 1737. They are located 300 meters from the shore. Strong surf currents are observed near the cliffs, and at a depth of 13 meters lies a canyon with a small cave.

According to legend, the "Three Brothers" protect the bay and the port city from ocean storms. In ancient times, natural disasters threatened coastal settlements, and one wave could destroy an entire village. Then three brothers from one of the villages decided to protect their land and entered the sea. They were so powerful and tall that the sea could not overcome them. The brothers became a barrier against the storm but turned into stone pillars. They still stand guard over the city.

The marine fauna around these cliffs is rich with sponges, sea urchins, crabs, and anemones. Research has shown that fossils found in the area of these Kamchatka pillars are about 100 million years old.
