The wing is part of the urban estate from the 17th and 19th centuries, recognized as a cultural heritage site of federal significance. Currently, the northern wing of the estate consists of two adjoining parts: the western (building 1B) and the eastern (building 1A). Building 1B has a G-shape, with the short side facing Armenian Lane and the long side facing Sverchkov Lane.

The estate ensemble, with the main house and wings forming the ceremonial courtyard from the side of Armenian Lane and the economic courtyard, was created in the 1790s by the renowned architect of Russian classicism, Matvey Fyodorovich Kazakov. He reconstructed the estate for the princes Gagarins, who owned it since 1790.

However, the history of the estate's construction at the corner of Armenian and Sverchkov Lanes spans over a hundred years. In this area, during the reigns of Tsars Alexei Mikhailovich and Fyodor Alexeevich, Russian aristocrats of the second half of the 17th century preferred to settle, and many of their stone chambers have survived to this day.

Thus, the foundation of the estate house, known in the 19th century as belonging to the Tyutchev family (the poet Fyodor Tyutchev lived here), is based on 17th-century chambers that, according to Moscow historians, belonged to the boyar Miloslavsky. Since the boyar estate included auxiliary residential and economic buildings, M.F. Kazakov had to integrate the preserved structures from the previous century into the new estate complex, which he successfully accomplished.

If one carefully studies the estate plan, it is evident that the architect positioned the long part of the letter 'G' along Sverchkov Lane, following the old boundary of the plot and the route of the medieval passage, which was closed at the end of the 17th century and reopened after 1812. The wing also includes fragments of 17th-century structures remaining from the boyar estate.

The northern wing (building 1B) is a single-story building located at the corner of Armenian and Sverchkov Lanes. From the side of Armenian Lane, it is adjoined by the estate fence with gates. After the lane along the northern boundary of the property became passable again, windows were cut into the previously blank wall. Among the notable interior details of the wing is the kitchen, whose walls are adorned with tiles featuring cobalt patterns.
