The mission of the Sayansk Local History Museum is to collect and preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Sayansk District. The museum studies and promotes this heritage through various forms of communication, as well as fosters civic responsibility and patriotism, supporting the continuity of generations, traditions, and spiritual values, and developing intercultural connections.

The museum was founded on April 1, 1998, based on a local history club at the Pioneer House, led by Valentina Alexandrovna Antipova.

The museum's collections hold about three thousand exhibits, including diverse collections, the history of technology, numismatics, documents and rare books, ethnographic and archaeological items, as well as samples of applied art.

Permanent exhibitions are open to visitors: the peasant life hall, the nature hall, and the hall of military glory.

The museum offers a wide range of services, such as museum lessons, lectures, excursions, discussions, game lessons, travel lessons, museum hours, debates, educational hours, and route excursions.

The main areas of the museum's work include exhibition and display activities, educational and scientific outreach, research, and collection management.

The Sayansk Local History Museum serves as a center for creative communication, development, and leisure. It also performs consulting, methodological, and project functions, providing children and adults with opportunities for various forms of communication and expanding sensory experiences through interaction with museum exhibits.
