The Saratov State Museum of Military and Labor Glory is located in Victory Park, nestled among tall firs and pines. This unique museum, part of the Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore, was opened in May 1999 at the initiative of the regional government. In 2000, a new museum building and a site with military equipment appeared in Victory Park, immediately attracting visitors' attention. The pavilion features an exhibition of relics from the Great Patriotic War. Despite being a single-story building, the museum occupies about four hectares and houses many interesting exhibits related to military conflicts of the 20th century.

The military equipment exhibition, opened in 2000, includes numerous combat vehicles that participated in the Great Patriotic War. The museum staff did significant work in collecting the collection, aided by Belarus, which provided exhibits. Visitors can see artillery pieces, armored vehicles, missile systems, as well as airplanes, helicopters, and spacecraft. Among the rare exhibits are an armored train and a combat boat.

In 2015, an exhibition dedicated to the labor routines of wartime was opened at the museum. The collection features documents and photographs provided by museums, enterprises, and archives of the city. Residents also contributed by sharing personal collections. For clarity, museum staff recreated the atmosphere of an apartment, a classroom, a factory workshop, and a design bureau of those years. The collection of agricultural machinery, numbering over 50 units, is located outdoors and complements the military equipment exhibition.

The museum presents several hundred exhibits, a significant portion of which consists of combat vehicles and weapons. Here, one can also see military documents, letters, photographs, awards, and personal belongings of soldiers. Guided tours of the museum help visitors learn about the history of Russian armaments and the military history of the country, as well as instill a spirit of patriotism in the youth.

Not all military equipment was brought from the Saratov region; many exhibits were delivered from other regions of Russia. The Yak-1 fighter, manufactured in 1942 at the Saratov Aviation Plant, is particularly popular. It is the only surviving wartime aircraft in Russia. In one of the museum's halls, the Book of Memory with the names of Saratov fighters is kept.

The museum's collections number 26,645 storage units, including relics related to participants of the Great Patriotic War, banners, awards, weapons, as well as materials on the region's development. The museum actively engages in collecting exhibits, creating exhibitions, and conducting tours. Clubs such as 'Veteran' and 'Memory of the Heart' organize events for patriotic education.

The museum prioritizes exhibition activities aimed at creating modern exhibitions. It collaborates with leading military-historical museums in Russia, allowing it to present exhibitions from the funds of the Central Museum of Armed Forces and others. The Saratov Museum serves as a scientific and methodological center for patriotic education and conducts conferences, seminars, and youth events. Veterans actively support the youth in these initiatives.

The museum has six clubs that bring together people of different ages. The 'Memory of the Heart', 'Veteran', and other clubs hold events to preserve the memory of wars, while the 'Heritage' club unites history enthusiasts of the region.
