The Samoylovsky Local History Museum was founded in 1968 as a public institution. As a district local history museum, it opened its doors to the first visitors on May 9, 1990. Since July 1991, the museum has been a branch of the Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore and is located on the second floor of a modern building with an area of over 450 sq.m.

The museum's collections hold about 9,000 exhibits. The core of the collection consists of items gathered by local historians from the local secondary school. Visitors consistently show interest in the ethnographic collection, which includes items from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that reflect the characteristics of the local Ukrainian ethnicity: a weaving loom, towels, clothing, pottery, a grain grinder, and other household items.

The museum also features Ukrainian towels and clothing that provide insight into the lives of the first settlers of Samoylovka. Material has been collected about the contemporary bandura ensemble "Charivnitsy," including a bandura, a participant's costume, photographs, and memories.

In the three exhibition halls of the museum, there are permanent exhibitions: "The Life of Peasants in the Late 19th and Early 20th Centuries," "A Duck Swims, But Not on the River" about the technology of fabric production in Russia, "Stop, Moment" with photographs of Samoylovka from the early 20th century, and "Youth Scorched by War," dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition "The Beautiful Creation of Beautiful Hands" showcases items of decorative and applied art, while the exhibition "Corners of Wonderful Nature" introduces the nature of the region. Here, a diorama titled "Beavers in the Floodplain of the Terza River," taxidermy of a noble deer, a stoat, a bustard, a white-tailed eagle, and an entomological collection are presented.

The museum invites everyone interested to become members of various clubs: the patriotic club "For the Russian Land" and the ecological club "For Harmony in Nature," which operates under the program "Let's Sit Together Nicely," for residents of Samoylovka of all ages who are interested in the history and nature of their homeland.
