The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in 1910, was a stone structure with an area of 238.1 m². In 1948, its insurance value was 45 thousand rubles. In 1930, the church was closed by the decision of the regional executive committee, and the building was used as a grain warehouse. In 1947, the church reopened at the request of 980 believers, who had been submitting applications to local authorities since the summer of 1946 and had met five times with the representative of the Council for the Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Kurgan region.

In the early years after the war, the church functioned successfully. It housed a three-tiered iconostasis with valuable icons, and the church choir was renowned for its singing. The church was attended not only by residents of Belozersky but also by believers from the Mostovsky, Mokrousovsky, Kurgan districts, and the city of Kurgan. On August 5, 1961, the Belozersky district executive committee decided to close the church in the village of Rychkovo and seal the building until further notice, planning to convert it into a club. On August 15 of the same year, this decision was approved by the Kurgan regional executive committee, and on October 5, 1961, the Council for the Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church under the USSR Council of Ministers closed the church and deregistered the community. On September 22, 1961, at six o'clock in the morning, the removal of church property began. Present believers of advanced age crossed themselves and cried. The iconostasis was sent to the regional local history museum, and the icons and priestly vestments were sent to the district executive committee's warehouse. Church relics, such as the antimins, holy gifts, and the tabernacle, were handed over to Bishop Flavian of Sverdlovsk and Kurgan. The church building was repurposed not into a club as planned, but into a collective farm grain warehouse.
