Hunter-scout Vasily Timofeevich Ryabov was born in 1871 and grew up in the village of Ivanovka in the Penza district of the Penza province. Although almost a century and a half has passed, his memory lives on. After being discharged from military service, Ryabov settled in the village of Lebedyovka. With the onset of war, he voluntarily joined the 284th Chambar Infantry Regiment and participated in battles in Manchuria. During a reconnaissance mission, he was captured but did not betray his comrades and bravely accepted death. In Moscow, the first Cathedral of Christ the Savior was considered the main military cathedral of Russia. Among the many marble plaques bearing the names of generals and officers who fell in various wars, there was only one board dedicated to ordinary soldiers. It bore just seventeen names, and among them was Vasily Timofeevich Ryabov.
